انتوساسپشن روده باریک در بزرگسالان یک بیماری نادر است که تا 5 درصد از تمامی موارد انسداد روده را شامل می‌شود. مکانیزم ایجاد آن در 20 درصد موارد مشخص نیست؛ هرچند اکثر موارد در روده کوچک ایجاد می‌گردد. هرگونه رشد غیرطبیعی - خواه خوش‌خیم مانند لیپوم و یا بدخیم- که در حرکت طبیعی روده اختلال ایجاد کند، می‌تواند محرک انتوساسپشن باشد (هنگامی که یک بخش از روده به داخل بخش دیگری می‌لغزد). در این مقاله مورد آقای ۶۰ساله ای را ارائه می‌دهیم که با علایم انسداد روده باریک به مرکز ما ارجاع داده شده بود. تصویربرداری، انسداد ایلئوم را تأیید کرد و به دلیل انسداد کامل، بیمار به‌سرعت تحت عمل جراحی قرار گرفت. در طول لاپاراتومی اکتشافی، یک توده شبیه به لیپوم به‌عنوان علت انتوساسپشن شناسایی شد. توده برداشته شد و آناستوموز ایلئوایلئال انجام گرفت. بررسی پاتولوژی در نهایت لیپوم را تأیید کرد. اگرچه لیپوم های روده باریک در بزرگسالان نادر هستند، اما باید به‌عنوان یک از علل احتمالی انتوساسپشن روده باریک در بزرگسالان در نظر گرفته شوند. این مورد خاطرنشان می‌کند که در ارزیابی انسداد روده در بزرگسالان، تشخیص‌های غیرمعمول را نیز مدنظر داشته باشیم.
